Decadent Cheese Cake


Cheese Cake, so creamy, so rich, so decadent.  This cake is wonderful on its own or made extra special drizzled with a sweet, tart fruit topping.  This recipe comes from my mom, it takes a little time but is really, really simple to make.  Everybody loves it, everybody claims its the best!

Ingredients for crust

2 cups graham cracker crumbs

3 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 cup butter melted

1/2 cup pecans crushed

1/2 to 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions for the crust

Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.


In a bowl mix: graham crackers, sugar, flour, melted butter, pecans, and cinnamon.  Mixture will be crumbly.


Press mixture into a greased 9″ spring form pan.  Bake in 350 degree oven for 5 minutes and cool.  While crust is cooling make the filling.

Ingredients for Filling

5 – 8oz packages of cream cheese

1-2/3 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/2 tablespoon almond extract

1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions for Filling

Keep oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit.


Mix: cream cheese, sugar, eggs, almond extract, and vanilla extract at medium speed until blended.  Then mix on high speed for 2 minutes.


Spread onto cool graham cracker crust.


  Bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 40 minutes.  While this is baking prepare the topping.

Ingredients for the Topping

2 cups sour cream

1 teaspoon almond extract

3/4 cup sugar (add it 1/4 cup at a time to taste)

Directions for the Topping

Keep oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit.


Mix: sour cream, almond, and sugar in the mixer until blended.


Immediately pour topping over baked cheese cake.  Bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 10 minutes.


You have just baked a cheese cake!


Now refrigerate and let set for at least 6 hours .
